Good article, and interesting comments on the article.

I am just glad that this will end soon. As I said on the other thread about replacements, the longer this drags out the uglier it gets.

The interesting next step will be the PR rehabilitation of VY prior to interviewing new coaches.

Should make for an interesting couple of weeks....

Point well made about Bud going out of his comfort zone. That is exactly what is going on here. Keeping fisher is cheap and easy and he can just not resign him after next year if he doesn't want to but firing Fisher means taking a chance and going through the process of hiring a new coach. It's riskier, costlier and involves more work.

I think that had it not been for the cancer Dinger would have been on a short list as a head coach.

If you think it can't get any worse if he's gone, think Carolina, St. Louis, Arizona, Oakland, Lions for years, Bills, Cleveland. It CAN get worse, especially if Fisher gets canned and Vince gets a raise. That will never make for a good team.

I really think that Fisher tells Bud "Its either Vince or me", leaving Bud with a choice to make.

My money is on VY....and my other opinions will not be repeated here.

Good points, but it is what it is at this point. This thing is in motion now IMO.

As I said in another thread..Fisher needs to be fired, and a statement by Bud needs to follow saying the new coach will have the final say in Vince's future. If you throw Vince on the new coach without saying that, he will not have any control in the locker room. It needs to be clear that it is his locker room and he makes the final decision on who plays.

It can indeed get worse without Fisher... but it can get better, too, hopefully. I'm sick of being in the middle on a consistent basis.
