Look, I never even thought the Chris Brown arguement was very solid.

But you do seem unable to understand the concept of upgrade.

Gunny, didn't you even say you think Fisher plays favorites? How can you seriously think Thompson is better than Lowry or Fuller, now that Thompson isn't in the league but they are? I ask again, why don't the Titans sign Thompson and cut Lowry or Fuller if Thompson is such the superior player? And such an UPGRADE at safety?

 

Because Gunny has the weirdest logic ever. Manipulates stats - for instance "30 yards! ohhh 30 yards!" without understanding (well, he understands he just hates being wrong) that a 4.9 YPC average is WAY better than a 3.3. So those 30 yards came on how many less carries??

Almost 100 less carries to get 30 more yards.

That stat argues more in the favor of CB, to me. 5 less games and he STILL out-produced him on almost 100 less carries?
How does that help Eddie in this argument? Even a gimpy Chris Brown bettered his production, and in less attempts.

it's such a simple concept you can't figure out. Not surprising though.

All Chris Brown gave us was 30 extra yards. That is all the matters. That is how much of an upgrade he was. It is irrelevant what his yards per carry was because YPC simply does not get your closer to the endzone. Actual yards do.

You can argue it all you want, but simple fact is Chris Brown contributed an extra 30 yards. Get a line chart and it will show you Chris Brown's impact in the rushing game was.....30 more yards.

You are blind to the concept that even a mediocre player can be an Upgrade to a GREAT player, when that great player is on the decline at the end of his career.

 

Again, Chris Brown was a better player than Eddie, but all he did was achieve 30 more yards because he couldn't handle the workload and was always injured. Thus he is not an upgrade.

He didn't split with Antowain Smith. Smith played because Brown couldn't.
Brown was the starter, Smith was the back up. Smith only got so many carries because Brown was injured.

Again, the difference was 30 yards. It wasn't an upgrade.

 

Again, combined, they UPGRADED the position.

Geez.
