The question is who do we replace Munch with? I have my top two choices, and may seem unconventional. The biggest thing about these two is that they are from OUTSIDE the organization. The NFL is no place for nepotism.

Nick Saban - Really? Does he have anything left to prove in the college game? I think as competitive as he is, the lone blemish on his coaching resume is that he couldn't get it done in the NFL. I think that bothers him and he wants another shot. Give him a year or two, completely committed to the team and I think we have ourselves a coach and a team.

Art Briles - This guy knows how to coach an offense. No matter how many 1st round draft picks we spend on offense we can never seem to get over the hump. Put this guy in place with the offensive weapons we have and he'd be like a kid in the candy store. I mean, have you guys SEEN Baylor play this year? They could possibly be the best team in the NCAA but won't get a shot at the title because they're a small school.

Based on the article written by Climer (he talked to Tommy Smith), it doesn't sound as if Munch is going anywhere. At least that's the impression I got from it.

exactly. He's here for a while. Unless we lose the next 7 games and finish 4 and 12... we're stuck with Munch.

Munch should be gone today! LAST NIGHT! We need a coach and a qb that does not get hurt every 4 games

Apparently, "The Jaguars were going to beat someone" and "we can't have unrealistic expectations." According to Mr. Smith of course.

    Mike Munchak, Tennessee Titans

    Signed through: 2014

Record: 4-5 this season, 19-22 overall

    Odds Munchak returns: 1-1 (even)

Odds Munchak is out: 5-7 (-140)

Preseason vibe: This was looking like a playoffs-or-bust season in September when team owner Bud Adams expressed high expectations after spending "a lot of money" to upgrade the roster. Adams subsequently passed away and his grandson took over the team.

Trending: Losing at home to the previously 0-8 Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 10 felt like an outcome that could haunt Munchak in the final evaluation. The Titans have now lost four of their past five. Coaches can sometimes overcome a disappointing record if they've got a young quarterback trending in the right direction. The Titans thought they had one, but losing Jake Locker to a potentially season-ending foot injury would undercut Munchak on that front as well.

Part of me would be OK with Munch staying as long as his hand is forced to dump both Lowgains and Gray. Make Williams the D-coordinator and hire a new, innovative, offensive mind as OC. I'm not sure if an Art Briles would give up a College head coaching gig for a lesser position in the NFL but we should explore those kinds of options. There are plenty of guys out there if we could just, hint, hint... look outside the friggin' organization. :anon:
