True, which is why I despise classic rock so much; it's a marketing ploy to a bunch of self-absorbed baby boomers who's lives peaked in high school and they can't move on from it.

Me?.. I was a metalhead during the 80's, and a partying drummer to boot. I still enjoy the nostagia, but if radio stations suddenly started catering to that I'd go nuts.... I've moved on.

I'll take classic rock any day over today's American Idol-ized pop culture. The AI thing has infected every type of music from hard to soft. It's completely false and just one lame clone after another.

I hear ya... I can't tell any of the new singers apart now... they all sound just like kelly Clarkson.

However, 35+ years of the exact same friggin playlist is quite enough for me.

70s Funk ruled. followed by 70s rock. Too bad it was all overshadowed by 70s Bad Comedy Clip Show Songs - whatever category those not funny at all things would fall into- and 70s disco, which still sucks, although the suckitude has lessened over the years. The further away from roller disco it is the more tolerable it is. Some of the instrumental disco is quite good - A Fifth of Bethoven, Do The Hustle, ect.

That being said I voted 80s because of the New Wave crap. Talking Heads and The Tubes still rule - Ya Better Listen To Mister Hate!
