Tubberville was under pressure until 2004.
So if your team loses to a "bad team" (if you'd consider App State bad), you can't point out that another team is bad? I guess you might want to stop talking then... ahem - Alabama? Cal?
I guess a 1-AA team can't be good though. Even if there were heavy arguments as to why they should be ranked.
Hoffa - Scheduling is done YEARS AND YEARS in advance. Other than the filler games at the beginning. UT plays OSU in about 10 years. They'll probably suck then though.
We all know that. Just like we all know that if your team is considered a top tier Division 1 team, and you schedule any 1-AA team as your home opener (no matter how many years in advance) you are scheduling a cupcake.
But only SEC teams do that...
so not scheduling a team at all that week is more impressive?
...if you say so...
App. State is a good team. A good 1-AA team.
1-AA team. A team that would be heavy underdog to EVERY team on UT's schedule.
Again, the whole glass houses thing.
And KTown....yes. Someone who has their tag line "hating Tennessee Every day" is not a fan.
App. St. has won 2 straight Div AA titles. They're better than some Div.1 teams. Of course everyone thought Michigan was going to win they were just looking ahead at, I believe it was Oregon, so I don't think a team should be judged on 1 game. Every major team schedules a "warm-up" game. It just so happens Michigan lost.
If I change it to hating Fat phil everyday will it make you feel better? I am more of a fan than most wanna be UT fans will ever be. (how about the orange in me is fading?) or is it because I am infatuated with Tony Bourdain?
I don't speak for every SEC fan but we love football. We care about alot. We know the history, players, stats, etc. So KTOWN TITAN I don't think their is anything wrong with your hating Vols everyday. I strongly disagree for saying that someone isn't a fan when you don't even know that person.
Just my 2 cents....
Getting back on topic a little. This move was anticipated. Can't say I agree with it. But he hasn't done anything to deserve being fired, and at the same time hasn't shown that he can win the SEC anytime soon.
I don't like Fat Phil, but who else is out there?
