there was a sub 500 team won a division once wasnt there?
I like the idea of 8 playoff teams per conference.
I'm not sure a bye week is even a good thing.
Yeah, the Seahawks went 7-9 in 2010 and made the playoffs, and they knocked out the 10-6 Giants in 2010 season. Bucs were also 10-6 that year and didn't make it in. The way it's structured that stuff happens sometimes (but that was the first time a losing team made it in). As a general rule I don't like it when that happens and don't want it to be any more common that worse teams get in. Make the regular season count for more than that imho. If you let too many teams in everybody starts sitting players that last few weeks of the season when the games mean little.
fair point about the sitting havent thought about that. But that does go on now though
I have zero problem with division winners getting their home game reward. None.
So, uh, what's wrong with the playoffs now?
The only thing that bothers me is the seeding.
I do have a bit of a problem with division winners getting an automatic home game. An automatic playoff berth would be fine with me, but the Packers, for example, should've been the 6th seed, not the 4th.
I hated the fact that in the 2008 season we were the #1 seed and got the 11-5 Ravens while the #2 seed Steelers got the 8-8 Chargers. Although we probably would've lost that game too.
It could use a bit of work maybe, but expansion does diminish the regular season a little. But it's all about the money, so I'm sure it will happen.
I would rather add two playoff teams than two games to the regular season though.
None will say either
Why not just turn the NFL into the NBA?
Well... I guess the system is fine the way it is.
