Stats lie when it comes to CBs. O-coords and qbs know which CBs not to throw around, so they pick on the person on the other side of the field. Unlucky for us, that person has been mouton or harper.

 

i feel like finny kinda disappeared this season, he came up when fat al was playing in godmode and now hes just a fiesty little dude who you dont really hear from for long portions of a game. and its not really saying much that he didnt get looks cuz hes a shutdown guy when the other guy is harper falls on his face right when the QB hikes the ball.

i still like the guy, you can look at it the other way around if it makes you more comfortable: revis is 2 times better than finny

 

Finny still played good this past season. You're right, a lot of the reason why he didn't get thrown to may be more about who the other CB is (Harper/Hood/everyone else) than a testament to how good Finnegan is. But that doesn't mean Finnegan isn't a shutdown corner. It just means our D had a major weakness that was easy to exploit. Even if we had an average CB instead of Finnegan, why in the world would you throw it at him when you could throw it to the other side for an easy catch every time?

 

As soon as Finny came back from injury he was picking a pass off every other game or so.

No corner can cover for 6 seconds though.
