TT is NOT EITHER of them. However the 5th round wasn't a terrible waste considering he's found a niche area on the special teams. He's a 3rd TE. No need to worry about replacing him. How often do you have 3 TEs on the field?

The upside was the hope that we could have landed a late round gem/receiving TE.

If a stud OT falls, I could see that happening as well, especially with Roos/Oher situation. So many potentials, crazy

 

Didn't Gates have a great year last year? I don't think Ebron is off the table, even though I don't think he was a real option.

 

Ebron is at best the #2 TE in this draft. Sefarin-Jenkins just ran a 4.56 40 at 270 lbs in private workouts for the Jets. He is a total beast.

Amaro had over 100 catches for 1300 yards at Texas Tech.

I don't see what separates Ebron from them. While Ebron's blocking credentials are better than Jared cook coming out it is still a weakness for him and i'm afraid all you might be getting is a 250 lb slot receiver. In that case why not just wait and see if Benjamin lasts until the 2nd rd?

I want a true TE if we go that route not a glorified WR.

 

Reminds me a bit of Mercedes Lewis but is probably faster. This is the TE you take with the 11th pick or else wait until rd 2 and take Amaro or the kid from Notre Dame.

The TE class is too deep to take Ebron at 11. Unless you want to take a chance on the beast you look elsewhere.

 

Jace Amero is a big strapping guy who can block and catch. Perhaps not freakish enough or a dominant enough receiver to take at 11 but a damn good prospect who plays well in space.
