Who is force feeding anyone? Who ever we take, I am fine with because again, they know more than us.

    Don't get so riled up....

the moral of the story is that there is nowhere near the talent level @ QB later on than there is in the Top 10 - imo

    Puck...

You might be right especially if omar jacobs wasn't available with our 2nd rd pick in that scenario.

But really how much better is cutler as a propsect than jacobs, whitehurst or croyle? Croyle may be the better all around passer with a quicker release and quicker arm. Both are reasonably similar in accuracy and arm strength. Croyle is smaller and that's the difference.

What if we don't want to pay the price to trade up to the 2nd pick for lienart and we don't think young or cutler are 3rd pick material? We may have no choice to be forced to draft a stud OT propsect or a stud DE prospect. How horrible.

We have options here. Maybe the lions really want dbrick or mario and are willing to trade up for them so we use our 9 pick to draft cutler.

Croyle isn't in Cutler's or Leinart's league. QB is the most important position on the team and Mac is nearing the end of his career. We are blessed to be picking 3rd in a year where there are 3 solid QB prospects and we have to take advantage of the opportunity. Besides, DE is not a big need nor is LB after signing Thornton. If we sign Hope S might not be a nhuge need either. That would leave us to be able to take advantage of a strong draft at OL in the second round after taking a QB in the first.

I guarantee that all three qb's won't be starters 5 years from now. It's just the way it works. Closing your eyes and picking one or saying "let's just take whoever falls" is never a good strategy.

You have to scout and determine which one(s) can lead your franchise. You then either trade into a spot that allows you to make that pick or take the next best player who you think can help your team the most. If we deem Leinart as the only worthy qb and we can't move into the number 2 spot, we'll just have to wait to see if he falls into our lap. If not, then we go with plan b.

Another thing to think about is that we have a hole at MLB and although Hawk didn't play there full time (I'm not sure if he played it at all), he has the size to do so. Interesting dilemma.

i really think that if for some reason we traded down and took like d-brick and then picked up a 2nd and a 3rd we could draft omar jacobs. what do you think. but i still want leinart or young in that order.

Croyle isn't even close to the same level as the top 3 QB's. He is late 2nd or mid round pick.

well, according to your man kiper, cutler is head over heals better than jacobs and croyle.

    Now kiper is the man!

    When it suits your arguements.

Head over heals? You mean like lienart is head over heals over cutler? Cutler is kiper's third best QB and jacobs and croyle are 4th and 5th. So? Soxcat talks about cutler as if he is somehow equal to lienart which is the problem in the first place.

You guys have some homo erotic thing for cutler? And what the hell happened to vince young? Did he disappear somehow? Cutler! Cutler! The third best QB=third best player right?:sad2:

IF we deem Leinart is the ONLY QB of the three then we should try to move up and take him. I'm not sure that is the case. Also, we are drafting #3 so we will have a choice of the two QBs that are left even if Leinart is chosen so it is not like we have to settle for third best. None of these QBs is a sure thing, none of them including Leinart. You might be right, that not all 3 of these guys will be starters 5 years from now but that doesn't mean Leinart will not be the odd man out. Nobody knows. All three of these guys have huge upsides but none of them are without chinks in thier armor.
