Edwards’ first impression a good one

I'm just interested in seeing what kind of deal he'd get on the open market. A guy who's never missed a game but has clearly lost the one thing that made him dynamic.

 

I think everybody does.

 

Wimbley is done for, he's averaging less than 20 plays a week, and thats not worth the $6M he's due next year.

 

I'd be interested to see that as well. I think it would be lower than most people would assume. Regardless of you think he might still be able to do, the bottom line is he hasn't been anything special in about 3 years. You get paid based on what you've done not what you could have done.

Honestly, I think if he got an offer in the $2-3m per year range he should say "please and thank you very much... how soon can I sign?" That may seem crazy to some people but he's got a lot going against him. He hasn't lived up to the hype three straight years now. And he'll be 29 years old next season with about 1,700 carries under his belt. He's been an absolute iron man so far throughout his career, but I think it's going to catch up to him sooner or later.

 

Regarding CJ, let's not forget the value we got his first few years. I'd chalk this up to our universe's course correction.

Don't forget what still happens when this guy gets space. Nigh uncatchable.

Lavar definitely appears to be a late round gem, I hope he keeps it up.

 

Happy to see Edwards play well and that swat was very clutch.

 

Edwards can play he would have been drafted much higher had he not played behind Mingo and Montgomery at LSU. Edwards much better player than Montgomery texans have not been happy with him
