    Diesels are just too expensive right now.

    those types of cars are not sold in the US. I had a 2 cylinder 660cc Subaru Surpa when I was in Australia. That little thing got almost 60mpg and had plenty of cargo room, but again those types of cars are not an option for Americans.

    Make sure what ever you do decide on, that it has plenty of cup holders and big ones for your super sized drinks. That an Americans car.

    I see it has all the creature comforts; steering wheel, seat, windshield, speedometer, all the bells and whistles.

    I drive a Renault Clio 1.5 Diesel. It's averaged 63.7mpg over the last 3000+ miles.

    I don't understand why there aren't yet diesel hybrids on the market.
    I bet it's possible to make a diesel hybrid hit 90-100mpg.

    I would drive one of those deathtraps for commuting puposes and I agree totally about the diesel hybrid.
