Got some new IEM's for my iphone and they are so great, thought I would pass them along.

I am a researcher. So when I need some earphones to replace my Shure's, I went to head-fi.org, a forum dedicated to headphones. I originally got some Klipsch Custom 2, but wasn't overly impressed with them so sent them back. Then after doing further research I stumbled upon Future Sonic Atrios M5. The reviews on these are great and at $180 considered to be as good as some 2-3 times the cost (yes...earphones can go into the 4 digits). Then I found a web site sold them for $140 and turns out they are located in Franklin, TN about 3 min. from my house. The company is actually a pro audio house that uses the web site to sell to consumers. Turns out that when I showed up there I asked the guys selling equipment to professionals and artist what earphones they would suggest, they all personally owned these.

Anyway, these things are incredible. I mean, I am really blown away by these. $140 is alot to spend just for earphones, but was worth every penny. If you are looking for some really high level earphones, you can't go wrong with these.

    Just FYI....

I've also heard great things about those. Glad you like them. I'm stuck with apple's terrible earbuds since I bought the new shuffle. I can't wait for Shure, Sennheiser, or Future Sonic to make some in-ear phones that are compatible.

What makes them not compatible with the shuffle?

Ahh...did not know that. These things are incredible though. As far as cost, of course that is alot of money for earphones, but if music is important to you and you have invested $$$ into what you listen off of, then it isn't that much.

I completely understand. Music, and sound in general, is very important to me. I'm one of the odd ones that sees the value in spending money on speakers/headphones. I'm actually in the process of building a set of home theater speakers. My wife says that she's just glad its audio equipment and not heroin or porn that I'm obsessed with.

After researching them, I couldn't believe all that is out there from the well known, like sony, to the more esoteric, like these Future Sonic. If anyone has any questions about what to get in a certain price range, I feel like I have memorized the damn recommendations now!
