That's probably a close possibility unfortunately.
I bet 50 - 70 new
Hopefully there will be more direct download stuff and digital sales like Steam
I'm thinking they will cost More than the last gen... Maybe another 10-15 bucks. 70/75. Still crazy. I could see up to maybe 79.99
I could see AAA titles at 69.99
Your Call of Lame, Madden, Halo, stuff like that.
I still say they will continue to push DLC and exclusives to make up money.
I can't see 80 for a new game.
Get rid of the physical discs and go with direct downloads like on the PC and prices would fall.
Currently software manufacturers have a standing deal with the big box stores that they won't price digital downloads below the physical shelf price on consoles.
If the publishers do the big chain stores won't stock the game.
Tis a vicious cycle
No such deal or understanding exist on the PC side.
I wonder if Microsoft follows this trend and prices their games on the consoles at significantly lower prices and tries to eliminate the physical disk altogether.
Based on what?
Wish they'd do it now.
Amazon is taking pre-orders for PS4 right now.
You don't get charged until it ships and you can cancel anytime if you want up until the ship date.
I did it about an hour ago and has me down for the initial shipment with delivery in December.
I have a feeling this thing will be tough to come by. I'd get in now.
BTW PS4 and X1 games are available for pre order on Amazon and are priced at $59.99.
... really? Light years?
It's not even better, period. It's just become the new "cool" thing to do... claim a game that's a generic form of the popular version is better. Cooooooool!
