Cook about as close to working in fast-food as he is to getting a big deal in the NFL.

I'd say Britt is as well, but I think he's talented enough to get passed around from team to team after he breaks the law again and gets suspended.

I agree. Cook is never going to be a sufficient blocker in the run game or in pass protection. Yes, he is hard for a LB to stay with in coverage, but that's just not enough. One good thing abut Cook is that if your WR core gets decimated by injuries or drunk driving arrests, he could play WR a little better than most TE's if needed. The Titans have a blocking specialist in Stevens, but I think they want Thompson to be the longterm answer at TE. They are likely hoping they can get Thompson ready by the time Cook hits free agency. If that's the case, I completely agree with them.

Glad the nut grabber is gone. He showed nothing but a loud mouth and bad attitude. In defense of cook, not many TE in the league can run and do the things he did in that 3 game stretch at the end of the season. I think he may really step up this year. When I keep hearing that stevens is a "blocking specialist", still waiting to see it.

No way Cook re-signs before McCourty does. Unlike Cook, McCourty plays his position extremely well and has no one breathing down his back to step it up. Thompson may replace Cook by next year, he does block after all.

McCourty will come first, no doubt. I only would not want his contract to get in the way of his performance. Though, now is as good a time as any. Probably better than in the offseason, before players get mentally committed. I've no doubt JMac has already flipped the switch. He's got to be the most reliable piece back there.

But I don't discount the value of resigning Cook. We have Thompson for 3 years and Stevens for 4 years, already. If Cook is going to be successful, I don't think the Titans are going to hate on that. A TE who can produce like Wychek for a 1st year QB? I don't see it. Signing Cook long term, plus the other two, will still be cheap at the position, if it's something they do.

I do think Cook should be more consistent, so I'm cool with it if he's producing up to expectations a month or two into the season, or as far as the bye.

But to assume Thompson and Stevens would be even half as productive as Cook was last season is laffy as taffy. In short, it's a stretch. Thompson's gonna make mistakes too. Already has.

But even if he does surpass expectations by being an early producer, is there something wrong with the Titans having its own Gronk-nandez lite? I don't see a problem with that in the pass-happy NFL, and the direction the Titans are taking as a result.

Lol, but yeah, sooooo glad Smith is finally gone. It's like when you know you stepped in poo, but, you just gotta walk around with it for awhile before you can scrape it off.

Hahahaha!!! I guess that means he'll be a Jag soon since Blackmon seems to hit the bottle pretty hard! But I hope we can use this cap to set ourselves up for the long term and not go through the cap issues like we did during the early 2000s again. As far as cook is concerned though I really don't know if I want him resigned or not. He just doesn't seem like he can be consistent enough for me and with Thompson being drafted to do basically the same thing, cook might not be needed.
