Doug Martin runs the way I wish Chris Johnson ran.The guy is 5'9" but he plays like he's 6'9". Chris Johnson puts up 24 yards against the Vikings when Doug Martin runs for 139 and catches 79 yards. Doug Martin is the type of player that this team needs. It's refreshing to see a running back that can do it all in 2012. Legarrette Blount... Where did all the love for this guy go? We kept kicking ourselves for releasing him and now he's on the bench! Lesson of the day, one dimensional running backs are a thing of the past. Doug Martin for rookie of the year! Doug Martin > Luck > RG3 What you gonna do when Doug Martin2.5k runs all over you?!
Doug Martin did beast it last night, but the Vikes played terrible. If you think Doug is ROY you cray... #RG3 It would be nice to get a 2nd Rd RB who ran like that for $1mil/yr. Instead we pay CJ55MIL to give us 2 20yard games and then bust for a 200 yard game so his stats look good.
And Titus Young is better than Nate Washington too, right? If they're from Boise, they're automatically great players. And if a player sucker punches a Boise player, they automatically suck. Lol I agree Martin is better than Blount, but they're two completely different types of backs.
Hey I've been saying all season there's 20+ RB's better than Chris Johnson, and that included Doug Martin. As for Blount being one dimensional, that's exactly why I didn't hate when we let him go. I certainly didn't like losing a complimentary back that spells CJ perfectly, but he was nothing amazing, he also never had the work ethic to ever be good for too long. But Martin for RoY? Not with you on that one, he's not as important or as exciting as RGIII Good thread to start my day off with.
Mmmhm. He's going to beat up on the crappy teams and suck vs legit teams... stats will look good and everyone will think CJ is back. Hopefully he puts up decent numbers and we cam sell high and trade him for anything. I just see a team like Det or Arz taking a risk on CJ. Maybe Fisher will take him back once sjax is gone next year
C.J would have to run for another 2000 yards for us to think we can trade him for anything. Everyone knows unless he goes insane, he's getting cut in March.
Trade him for nothing is what i'm saying. 7th rounder... please? It's extremely unlikely, I know. But maybe, just maybe a team will take a risk on him. Someone like the Cardinals. Their 3 best players are aging: Dockett (31), Wilson (33), and Fitzgerald (29). Will they make an agressive move like they did for Kolb/Warner? I can dream!
