Don't Kill the Kickoff

    With the NFL giving a lot of thought to getting rid of the kickoff, it got me thinking. As a Titans and Seminoles fan I would have been robbed of two great football memories had the kickoff never existed.

    The Titans made it to the Super Bowl because of a kickoff return in the playoffs in 1999.



    The Seminoles won a national championship in 2013 in part because of a kickoff return for a TD.

    Also, if the kickoff didn't exist, Reynaud might still be on the team.

    Not that I'm in favor of it, but this team would be better off if they did do away with the kickoff/kick return play

    Who was the last good return specialist the titans have had?

    Mariani, and he wasn't great.

    I think the bigger problem has been on the other side though...it seems like teams have consistently racked up yards on returns against the Titans for years now.

    Averaging 26-yards a return these days in Chicago is pretty good. Should have never let him go. Even as a useless WR he would have still been worth holding onto.
