I'd hardly say him being white has made him stick around for his forth year. Outside of monumental busts, every QB should be given 4 years to get it right. Locker is a good dude who works hard, that's what gets him his 4th year.

I suppose we could just cut him and go after the plethora of MVP QBs out there right now.

 

Agreed. Cutting him right now makes very little sense and is the biggest reason he's still here.

I disagree that it's 0. But it's definitely not a major reason. Remember that you made a big deal about it not me.Jake has that all american boy next door look to him, that's all I meant by it. He looks the part of a "face of the franchise".

 

Teams don't keep players because they look like the face of a franchise.

They have to be the face.

 

I do think teams can keep a guy around because they hope he becomes that face. Jake has a chance to be the face of our franchise. If he was just some other guy he'd be gone but his character and potential makes the decision makers and fans optimistic that he'll be the guy. I see a lot of posts on this site (some of mine included) that pretty much say they're not sure he's the guy but they hope he is.

 

if he was a free agent we just signed I would have questions, but hes on the final year of his rookie deal. No reason to say bye just yet.
