They also happen to look just like delicious, tasty sea turtles when they're paddling their boards.

Fun fact: sharks do NOT like humans.... we taste terrible. As long as you don't look like a turtle (surfers) or a seal (scuba divers) you'll be fine. It's just a fish.

We taste terrible unless you just ate a Snicker's Ice Cream bar ...or w.e that damn commercial was for.

And not so much for scuba divers....sharks are attracked to divers when they have equipment that is shiny...the reflection of light catches their eye and they think bait fish. This is why dive knives and other equipment should be black or at least a dull metal....not shiny.

You know, I never even thought of that. Its a shame most high quality dive knives are not black. I can only think of one rust proof knife that is black to be honest.

You'd be amazed at how often that happens and people don't even know it. I guarantee every time you've been in the water something you don't want near you is not too far away.

I've seen several aerial shots of the beach with sharks maybe 10 yards away from people who have no idea.

Amazingly, though, is the small amount of shark attacks each years. What is it, like three a year?

I agree. I found that when I was snorkeling the other day and saw a Sea Snake (saw two actually) and I wondered which the amount of people in the water that day how many had no idea they were near Sea-snakes?
