Last month I went Pier diving down the coast and we got follow a string ray for a little bit. Thought I'd share it.

The quality isn't the best, looking to get a better lens for my underwater video camera.

That is awesome. Although I doubt I would want to swim in your waters over there, since it is known for sharks lol.

You should look into GoPro, they make a waterproof camera that can go down to 60m. I have not seen any underwater film of theirs, but I would assume it is quality because everything else I have seen filmed is top notch.

Just an FYI, I am in no way a spokesman lol.

First time I went diving at that spot we saw a Port Jackson shark which is this (not my photo):

    Very much a harmless shark.

But this was pier diving, won't get any dangerous sharks there.
Blue-ringed Octopuses are another matter though and they are mean mo'fos.

I was using a GoPro, they're amazing camera and the quality is amazing except underwater.
But you can get a flat lens housing unit (rather than the rounded lens) which makes a tonne of difference. So I am hoping to get one before I go on a cruise at the start of next month.

Ugh yea, I have heard tons about those blue ringed octopus. Nasty things indeed. I was surf boarding* once in San Diego with a buddy. Saw him get real pale and said he got "bumped" by something really big. Never got to shore so fast in our lives lol.

*by surf boarding I mean spending most of the time under water swimming back to my board.

Saw on the news once some dudes were surfing and out of nowhere a small shark just flies through the air and tries to attack one of the surfers.

That would be enough to pinned me to land for the rest of my life.

But these idiots surf at morning and night when it is prime shark time.

You know, I used to love the ocean. I'm not OVERLY afraid of sharks, but...for the last few years, Jellyfish have kept me out of the ocean. I walked the pier one day, and looked down...and saw about 300 jellyfish swimming toward the shore.

    Haven't been in since.

I'm scared of the ocean. Not afraid to admit it.

I won't go past where I can stand up anymore. I did that when I was younger and I saw a shark's fin only about 5 yards away from me. Pissed myself and swam like Michael Phelps back to shore.

Also, when I was like 12 I got pulled way out and could've drowned. Luckily, I am a good swimmer (used to be on a swim team) and made it back, but it was a pain.

There really aren't many things I'm scared of. Ocean/sharks is easily #1.
