I'm no videophile by any stretch of the imagination and I'm soon to be in the market for a new tv for my study/guitar room/escape from the world room. I have a XP laptop that I can attach to a nice Dell UltraSharp monitor in that room through a docking station and thought maybe instead of adding a TV, I could just use that monitor setup.

I tinkered with PCI tv tuner cards back in the day, but I recall them only receiving analog signals. I have Comcast digital cable and naturally I'd like to avoid renting another one of their boxes. Is there a solution out there (maybe USB) where I can get both the analog and digital signals to my laptop. NFL Network is on digital and it's a must to pick it up in that room.
