It's hard to know what the hell happened in that war room. Who's fault or anything. Speculation is damn near pointless especially with the reports afterward that the browns pulled out of the potential trade.

This is what I believe happened. I think Titans had both Barr & Ebron as top picks on their boards surely believing one will fall to them. When both those guys got picks right before the Titans, they had to regroup to figure out who to draft. At the same time, trade offers were coming in for Manziel. In the end, trades didnt go through, and the Titans picked the safe pick there.

Roos is on his last year, and Oher is no guarantee to be great. This pick adds depth and setups our O-line to be solid for years to come. So, no I don't believe we missed up the pick.

I would have rather had a star WR but whatever. We didnt waste the pick on Manziel

yes- but it is not speculation that the trade didn't go through. And it isn't speculation that there was negotiating up until 5 seconds to our deadline. And some of our folks appeared exasperated on camera about it. I'd like to know the story.

Yea I'd like to know the story as well. But people instantly deciding what happened is just bad business.

Read the thread title. It isn't the pick we're discussing but the trade that fell through.

Yeah- I agree that the speculation is pointless. I just think it would be a good idea to let the fan base know what happened. I understand that it might appear to Lewan we didn't really want him but I think it could easily be disclosed that we were off on compensation to move back x number of spots and no way we were letting a top 5 talent away from us for that deal blah blah etc.

It just doesn't give me much faith in our FO when other teams are able to execute advantageous trades and going at it up until the last 5 seconds suggests we were DEEPLY interested in doing so.

from the way it sounds to me they waited till the last minute and decided to back out of a trade and left us scrambling to make a pick

Was NFLN showing every war room? If so, I really shouldn't have been watching it on TSN. I'd love to know the details of the trade, but I'm sure we'll never really know.

Very few QBs become "franchise" without a foundation. A good LT is never a bad pick.

I think the idea that they "panicked" or "rushed" the pick is silly. They've probably done dozens of mock drafts in-house over the last few months. They've probably played out every reasonable scenario that could happen. It's not like they waited until 10 seconds were left and then decided who they want.
