One if the big things I have noticed of our team this year compared to last year is our tackling so far has been very good. Last year we were awful. Couldn't stop anybody last year. But this year, we have really made huge jump in improvement . Teams have 3rd and 3 we stop them short. Third and 6 we stop them short. Anyway, our defense thus far has really improved on this area. I be in da house this Sunday for jets game.

Defense as a whole has really taken a step in the right direction. Agree with you about tackling. Would also say they're hitting a lot harder which could definitely give us an advantage if we see any of these teams again come playoff time.

The reason for that is we're closer to the ball carrier now. No more of that 15-yard cushion by our CB's, receivers arent allowed time to get going full speed. Its much easier tackling a guy cruising at half speed than when he's coming downhill full speed.

Thank God we threw out Jerry Grays gameplan.

It seems like this year the D is attacking the ball much better. No more sitting back waiting for the reciever to catch it and praying they can grab an ankle as they run by. I've been thoroughly impressed by this defense!

It's amazing how much difference a change in attitude can make.

I think a big thanks to that goes to Greg Williams and pollard for this attitude change. Even after Pollard got fined, he said the right things and is going to continue to keep playing like he has, and I love it!

    Attitude.
Bigger DL, better, more consistent push.
Fewer offensive mistakes means the D doesn't feel like they have to pitch a perfect game.

Gregg Williams is just amazing, nothing of the improvement has come from Jerry Gray that's for sure. When you're aggressive as a defense you pursue downhill rather than on your heels

I think that adding Williams to the staff has more to do with our defensive success and change of attitude. I just can't believe that Gray is getting this much out of these guys on his own. Our guys are playing with a purpose and toughness that they just didn't have at all last year. Having a guy like Pollard definitely helps but I think Williams is key.

Tackling has been great and I love how guys are swarming to the ball and gang tackling when needed instead of whiffing with arm tackles like last year.
