Dear Oregon Fans

First off let me say I am happy to see you guys become Titans fans through Mariota. The Titans/Oilers fanbase has always been a small one and we can always use more people. And for the most part you guys have made a positive contribution to the forum (there is one guy I remember being a dink) and we can always use good people here.

A few things you should know:

1. Only a very tiny minority of us are calling for Mett to replace Mariota. So please do not act like it is a common theme amongst us. Most are either caustiously optomistic or outright excited. Take a look at how the Mett nut swingers are treated by the rest of the community here. And Tennessy XO has a good theory as to why they prefer Mett
2. Yes, this team sucks. That is what happens when you are a top QB prospect, you go to a team that sucks. The biggest thing holding this team back though has been lack of a franchise QB. The horrible sucking is actually new here and only started with Whisenhunt. Before that this was a middling team, a good QB away from being a solid team
3. For those hoping Mett does start and Mariota goes elsewhere next year -- not going to happen. And you should hope it does not happen. High picks that are replaced by their first team rarely do much of anything after. The best in recent memory has been Kerry Collins. Some turn out to be decent backups like Jason Campbell and Byron Leftwich. Most end up having short careers. If Mariota is going to be a star it will be in Tennessee, like it or not
4. If Mariota fulfills his promise then this will be a strong team. In the NFL you need a franchise QB to have consistant success. And teams that are consistantly are teams without a franchise QB. If this coaching staff is not the answer the team will just get a new one
