We're giving up 35+ per game. We let them do what they wanted in the 1st quarter to jump out to a 14-0 lead. Gray had nothing to lose at that point, so he tighten up the D. He should have done that from the start. We don't double WRs at all. I really question Gray's football IQ. Plus we should have never let Washburn leave. We have a Dline coach and a sack specialist on the payroll. WTF for!!!!! We are not known for sacks. Hell, we are not known for tackling either. Can't wait til Colin is back on the field.

Morgan is as bad as Kearse's second stint as a Titan.

AJ had 2 catches for 53 yards on the opening drive. He had 1 catch for 3 yards there after ... if we don't have to double, then why should we?

Through the first 3 weeks, Morgan was #2 in the NFL behind JJ Watt (who was 1 tackle ahead) for the most tackles by a DE.

Although, Morgan does need to get more playtime in the offensive backfield.

We would look alot better if we blitzed like occasionally. There is 5 blocking 4 95 percent of the time and the qb facing zone, almost every snap. We are very consistant no doubt!

I see Griffin blitz and I just laugh, its the saddest thing ever.

McCarthy and Witherspoon have done good blitzing when they get the chance to from the MLB spot.

We're on pace to break NFL records for our play on defense! They are not the records you want to break! Anyone defending this guy needs to make sure they're watching the same game as the rest of us. I remember being so excited with the hire and watching his interviews and actually believing in what he promised us and he's done none of it. We sit in zone with no pass rush and when we do blitz it's not with the right guys. I don't understand why we're not mixing things up, I would love to see Ayers put his hand in the dirt more or actually put McCourty on the bigger WR's.

I don't get it. Injuries have killed us this year, I get that, but through 4 games we know what to expect. At least the players are doing well, it would be great to see what they would look like with a competent DC. I know McCarthy wouldn't have made the biggest difference but we're missing his play and leadership bad.

Look guys, I've been saying this forever but we really do need to switch to the 3-4. Of course, we need a real defensive coordinator who can run it, like a Wade Phillips, Mike Nolan, etc. Most elite defense are running the 3-4, reason being, you can create more confusion with it. Also it is not that difficult to draft an athletic, fast guy who can be get around a slow offensive tackle. It it, however, to find a 4-3 end that can get 15-20 sacks a year.

Best reason to do so are the Texans, yes they are a Juggernaut, but it's because of the switch they made on defense. Hell their defense was a complete and utter joke, it was like 3 yards away from being, statistically, the worst defense in NFL history. They following year they are a top 5 defense, if not number 1, I can't recall for sure.

So in the span of one year they go from the worst to one of the best, why, the 3-4 and drafts that focused on players that fit that scheme? Example of what the 3-4 did to Locker yesterday... his words " they blitzed from the right and disguised it really well, I didn't see it." I sound like a broken record here, but it should be any defensive coordinators objective, first and foremost, to create confusion on EVERY play. To me the 3-4 allows more opportunity to confuse the opposing teams offensive line.

Our LB corps, right now, would be an elite 3-4 defensive group.

    ------(CB)Verner---------(FS)Griff---------------------------(SS)Babs------------(CB)McCourty------

    --------(OLB)Wimbley--------(LB)Brown----------------(LB)McCarthy------------(OLB)Ayers---------

    --------------------------(DE)Casey----------(NT)???-----------(DE)Morgan---------------------------

Obviously we'd need to address the NT position and DE position in free agency and the draft, but we are really not that far away from having a really good looking 3-4 defense, but we'd have to get a new D coordinator that knows the in's and out's. I'm gonna have to research that a bit but you get the point.

I can't help but think how our guys would play in a real defensive scheme, coached by a great coordinator. I just get this feeling that we have some really good young players, but their careers are being wasted by a sad excuse for a defensive coordinator.
