A number one receiver is something every NFL team needs?

This is once again the ignorance concerning the term #1 WR that I am talking about.

Every team doesn't need some receiver that gets 1,200 yards. Does it help? Sure, is it necessary? No.

The patriots won 2 superbowls without a 1,000 yard receiver.

One year Givens, Patten, and Branch were their top 3 receivers when they won a superbowl and the yards they had were 874, 800, and 454.

The other year their top 3 receivers were Branch with 803, Faulk with 440, and Brown with 472.

Brady passed for 3620 yards that year and 3692 in the other.

Plaxico barely had 1,000 yards this year with 1,025. He had 2 catches in the superbowl.

Having a great WR is a luxury not a necessity.

I realize that. But what you have to understand is there has to be SOME talent in the WR corps. I'll use your own example:

The funny thing is..all the players you named can be considered #1 receivers. Branch is bad? Givens? BURRESS? Those are all great receivers. You don't see names like Brandon Jones, Justin Mcareins, Byron Ealy, Chris Davis, and Mike Williams as the type of guys that can help WIN championships. The Titans receievers suck *** compared to the ones you just named.
