Is the only option to draft a starter if he is out of the picture?

That or replace Amano with a crash test dummy. Cheaper but slightly more effective.

I think the C position is something we can grab in the draft in the first 3 rounds.

I was kind of excited about the prospect of not having to draft a Center and having a greater ability to grab the BPA. But maybe that's what they're thinking with this Casillas guy, that we won't need to draft a LB. Koppen brings much more value to this team than Casillas IMO though. Oh well....

Nothing in that article suggests that Koppen is likely to go back to New England. The only relevant quote says that the Pats signed another center to a multi-year deal and may no longer have any interest in Koppen.

Regardless of Koppen or not, chances are if we drafted a Center in rounds 1 - 4 he will be an upgrade over Amano.
