Tim Lincecum, who won the NL Cy Young last season, gets rewarded for his efforts with a 1 year, $650,000 contract. Really? Manny Ramirez turned down a $25 million contract a few weeks ago, and this is all Lincecum can get? He's going to get paid large after that contract is up though.

It is lame. Same thing happened to Roy Oswalt. Roy is probably the best NL pitcher over the last 5 years, and his contract is piddly for all that he has done. About 10 Million a year. Meanwhile a guy like Clemens could get 5 million a month and what amounts to about 60 million a year. There's no logic to it. I'm a big lincecum fan too. He and Oswalt are the best two pitchers in my opinion.

That is because he isnt eligible for arbitration until after this season. The Giants have his rights until 2013, depending on what happens in arbitration next year and if they agree to those terms. There was no reason for the Giants to give him a big deal at this point.
