Cutting Haye, Gage, and Nickey made me happy. Signing C.J. made me happy. Letting Amano pick center as his new job pissed me off, and the fact he's still here just makes me so angry I could spit fire.

We aren't as bad at WR as people think and even without Britt the three top guys aren't that bad. We also have Cook who fills a WR role as much as TE. So not going into a panic and using a draft pick on a WR was a good move. Unless there is a sure fire stud we probably don't go WR in the first round in next years draft either. WR is simply not a huge need and Britt was hurt early enough they should have a good idea how he will recover before the next draft.

The two main problem areas right now are DE and interior OL. That is it in a nut shell. Period. Even if we don't sign Finny back CB doesn't rise into the top two as a need.

First look at the interior of the OL and our offense. It is ridiculous to blame Palmer for his game plans when the inside guys get blown off the ball consistently and they don't do great in pass protect either. So Palmer is trying to run an offense with little running game and he has delivered an offense that actually is pretty effective. I'd really like to see them draft a young stud at center to anchor the OL for the next decade+ and replace Scott with with anyone. Velasco should be playing. Bolstering the interior of our OL would raise the play of the whole offense by a big margin.

Palmer has taken a worn out QB with minimal mobility and made him into a quality QB. On top of that Locker looked good good and isn't that the idea? To have a OC that can develop our future franchise QB. I see little wrong with the offense except that our OC is handcuffed by the ridiculously poor play from our interior OL.

On defense one issue is we are playing a bunch of rookies. Basically our future at LB is Ayers and McCarthy. Casey looks like a keeper at DT and Klug is a minimum a pass rush specialist. But Morgan and Jones aren't getting it done at DE. Morgan uses very poor technique and tries spin moves all the time because he thinks he is Freeney. But he hardly ever gets close to the QB. Jones is simply out of place so far at DE which is disappointing. I really think we took a step back when Washburn left. We lost a guy who could take dog do do and make a pass rusher out of them and got a coach who hasn't been able to deliver so far. With that said if we had two real good DEs our whole defense would take a big step forward. We also need to address the S position.

Rams claimed Lloyd before it was our turn. We couldn't of gotten Lloyd even if we did or did not want him.

I think he means the rams said "we want him so nobody else offer anything for him okay??" and then every other team obliged.

Don't sweat the Lloyd deal, he wouldn't be the same guy anywhere BUT St Louis. Good for him he landed in the perfect situation.

First of all, CJ was given over $30 million GUARANTEED. He's going to get that much whether or not he gains another yard in the NFL. We are paying him that much money so we are pretty much stuck with him. I would say at least through next year. You don't just cut a 3 year pro bowler, who has a bad season especially after he just got a huge contract extension.

Second, WR is a HUGE need. Look at how different our offense is without Kenny Britt. I look at teams like Dallas, Philly, and Atlanta and see they have 2 WRs that can be considered #1's. Since its obvious we can't depend on Kenny to stay healthy an entire season (he has yet to play a full seson), we need someone that can step in and be the #1 guy when he's out. I love Nate and D Will but no team in the NFL fears them like they do Britt. With CJ not playing like we know he can, we're left with an offense without many play makers, we certainly don't have the play makers to make the BIG play consistantly. I'm not necessarily saying take a WR in the 1st round. There is a great pool of WRs that will be FA's this offseason and many of them would be a great fit (I am particularly hoping for Dwayne Bowe). But if the front office acts like it normally does every off season, I'm guessing they don't go out and spend the money that one of these FA's will command and we will be left to the draft to fill the WR hole. There are some STUDS at the top of this draft like Blackmon and Jeffrey. One of those guys would change our offense over night. Imagine having Locker, Britt, CJ, Cook, and Blackmon/Jeffrey on the field. Who do opposing defenses cover?

I do agree our pass rush was awful yesterday. WTF were some lineman dropping into coverage? Do they really think Derek Morgan or Sen'Derrick Marks can cover Anthony Gonzalez? This next year I'd drop Marks and Haye. Draft a stud DE, move Jones back to DT and move Klug to DE. We have to get some pressure or QBs like Ryan will pick us apart like they did yesterday. Sadly though, this draft is going to be thin with DTs and pass rushers, especially compared to last year.

Not true my friend. Sure his signing bonus is worth roughly $30M all together, but C.J. has only gotten about $17M so far. The $30M is paid out over 3 years. If he's on the roster this coming March he gets another $8M, and same thing in 2013.

If C.J. doesn't hit 1000 yards in 2011, his 2012 salary goes down nearly half a million. Great contract by Reinfeldt if you ask me.

For real, all the guy does is wince and literally bite his lip. C'mon man! Also not saying I want him to talk sh!+ as much as the Ryans do but sometimes it is what the situation calls for. There have been a handful of times where we were in tight situations and the guys could really use a fire lit up under their @$$3$. Put them on notice, scream at them. Do something to get a rise out of them. Don't just keep to yourself and bite your lip. C'mon man!

CJ's entire contract was worth somewhere around $52 million with $30 guaranteed, including bonuses. He's getting the $30 regardless of his performance, that's why it's called guaranteed and that's what I was referring to. If he's been paid the $17 like you said, we still owe him $13 whether or not get gains one more yard or has a career ending injury. The $8 roster bonus that he would be paid every year would be the money to take it above the $30 million and get him to the $52 if he meets all of the criteria laid out by the contract. The half a million he'd lose for not getting over 1000 yards is really a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things.
