Titans TE Craig Stevens has agreed to a pay cut, reducing his 2014 salary from $3.4 million to $1.6 million.
Stevens had two years left on his previous deal at salaries of $3.4 million and $3.5 million. His new deal is a two-year, $5.2 million pact. Stevens, 29, is purely a blocker who caught just two passes for five yards last season.

Well this is good. A more reasonable price for Stevens.

I like Stephens, I think this is a solid price for a good blocking TE that can come up with a clutch catch from time to time.

I think it is a good sign that these guys are willing to take cuts to stay with the Titans. To me it says that they like the direction that Whizenhunt and his staff are going to take this team. Kudos to Webster.

While it is good that these guys are reducing their salaries, I think it speaks more about how little value they have.

Stevens was not even going to get 1.5 million anywhere else. Not even close.

Wimbley would maybe get 1.5 mil on the open market. He opted to stay in TN and make double that.

I think it only speaks a small bit about the staff. Mostly speaks about their pocketbooks, because they are training camp cut players on better teams.

He wasn't asked to do much last year. He had some great grabs when Cook was here.
