If Coughlin weren't 70 I'd be all for bringing him in. We need to be focusing on younger guys who can be here for the long haul. Last thing we need is a stopgap and then have to start the process all over again in 2 or 3 years.

and sent 3 teams to the Super Bowl

theres no way you can spin it to detract from what that division has done over the years..

Sure 2 of those were from NYG. So 1 other Super Bowl appearance in 12 years. Only one other franchise QB for him to compete against since McNabb left, and made playoffs less than half the time.

Not taking anything away from what Coughlin did, but the East is full of average teams, that doesn't make it a hard division. Just think an "elite" coach could at least make the playoffs 50% of the time.

At his press conference he talked about all of the things this team has been missing for a long time. He may be long in the tooth, but he knows his stuff, both in football knowledge and as a coach of young men. Tennessee has to learn to play disciplined football. There has been a bunch of talk about this team never quitting, but the results indicate a lack of cohesiveness. They are young and have to learn how to play as team. We need more talent, but we are in position cap wise and pick wise to cure some ills. With a young, franchise qb in place and the number one overall pick we can be back in the win column sooner as opposed later with disciplined leadership. We also need a big time culture change and he would make that happen.
