    and we all appreciate that he took down Tom Brady and Bill Belichick twice, but like Nick said it takes the perfect storm and I just cant see him taking our team very far at this stage in his career..

    I don't want any hc over the age of 60. We need guys that could be here a while. I doubt he even pursues a hc job. He's just to old.

    No way NYC is more desirable. You want to deal with that media? That crime? The taxes?

    Way better off in Tennessee.

    Plus you are not even going to NYC, you are going to New Jersey.

    Whatever that's worth. Wouldn't be the first time someone was given an ultimatum by their superiors.

    I think he knew his time was coming to an end there. It just looks better if they announce it as a mutual decision.

    If he announced his retirement immediately, I would have bought the story.

    Only someone like Jerry Jones would fire a coach that had that much past success.. And not try to soften the blow a bit, to the fanbase. And I'm not even too sure that the Giants fans are that fond of coughlin at this point.

    Owner and Coughlin are looking at their legacies with this choice of words, IMO.

    Someone who's just a bum (whisenhunt) just call it how it is. He's fired.
