Most teams will not run on a 3rd and 10 and even if a few did the actual stat would have little effect on the running numbers. It is just not a call most O-cor would make and still keep a job.

Maybe. We did stay near the top 5 in average in our year of making teams pass a lot, they stayed in the bottom 5 last year. Just seems to be our type of D will typically be better against the run.

If we have two guys that can stick like glue to the WR's, then that's great. Maybe it'll make our S's look better.

Most teams don't run on 3rd and 10? It was an example of how some stats skew a result. Down by 14 with 5 minutes left, the Colts are not really worried about you running on 1st and 10 either. Since not many teams ran too much against them, those runs against a pass first mentality DO make a significant contribution to the avg yards per carry.

This also leads many GM's and DC's to make poor decisions in a copycat league. If your offense isn't dominant, you can't play the same way without SUPERIOR personall and even then, it's tough to make it all the way to the Super Bowl. Just ask the TB bucs and that was only AFTER they changed their offense.

So faster LB's are nice to have, but if it means we won't be as good against the run we're in for a large problem.

The Titans D of old knocked your block off and stuffed the run with PRIDE. I haven't seen either of those two things under Schwartz NOR a good pass D nor a D that scared anyone...including bad offenses!
