I think officials are a bit more leary about throwing flags in playoff games. The NFL wants games decided by play, not flags. They want continuity, and penalties disrupt the flow of the game. I think it's another reason you see late flags, the officials wait to see if the receiver can make the catch. If he does they don't need to toss it.

If there's one team in the NFL that can't complain about calls and rules - it's the colts.
    What more do they want?

I just cannot give any respect to a team that whines constantly about their receivers having to play physical ball. Its football for crying out loud. Pretty soon there will be a Colts rule, which basically translates into requirement of a 3 foot halo around the receiver that the defender cannot cross.

Cry babies cry. Count on physical play by NE....

Non-calls can be just as influential as penalties

Man you people are reading way too much into that article. It's no secret that the NFL wants highscoring game with lot's of offence and the Ravens-Colts game was the exact opposite of what the NFL wants from it's playoff games.

That is what the article about, nothing more nothing less.

That "article" is really nothing more than a transcript from Polian's Monday Night radio show. A caller asked a question and he answered it.
The non-call against Reggie Wayne was ridiculous. They threw the flag and then picked it up. The replay CLEARLY showed it should have either been pass interference or illegal contact....they were far beyond the 5-yard limit.

And a REMINDER for those of you that STILL don't get it:
There was no "rule change" to favor the Colts. The rule was already on the books. The "change" was that they decided to start enforcing it. Unfortunately they didn't do that on the play that involved Reggie Wayne....but we beat the Ratbirds for you anyway :grrhee: .
