Asking a guy to "tough" his way through a pulled hamstring is absolutely retarded. A pulled hamstring isn't a sprained ankle you don't just work through it. If he pushes it too hard he can go from a partial tear to a full tear and be out all year. He needs a good 1-2 weeks of rest from running in order to heal it fully, longer is the pull is serious. Few things are more damaging to the career of a speed athlete as recurring hamstring pulls are.

I find it strange that drafted players participate at these OTAs before they sign contracts. Seems like there would be liability issues.

    I agree

even being a Titan fan I understand unsigned drafted guys sitting them out. I have no mercy for the guys under contract though

You're right. They should be real tough, manly men and hurt themselves now when it means absolutely nothing. Then they can have nagging injuries during the regular season. Sounds smart to me.

Like they won't all be hurt during the season regardless.

True, but I just can't see the upside to pushing a guy through something like a hamstring injury. Let these guys heal up and then work them really hard to make up for the lost time.
