I thought about this for a while. I like KW, he wasn't awful and I think he deserves to play a bit more at DE (4-3) before we can really say anything. But he also wasn't great and we paid him quite a bit to be. Ayers and Brown didn't get much time to blitz (and in Akeem's case he only played a little bit at DE), but they both to my memory did better when given the chance at least from a production standpoint. (Also, I think Akeem needs more time, if KW 'didn't play much' DE, on that scale, Akeem didn't play at all...) Anyway, on to the Cliff question... They are similar in size and playing style, but Cliff is quite a bit younger... (also this question assumes that KW doesn't count to our cap or we can 'cut' him with ease if we choose to try it... - can we?)
Not happening Cliff avril I assume you are speaking of. Wimbley will be used in the same to similar fashion this season. Ayers and brown got most of their sacks when we blitzed em, not sent em off the edge (in regards to ayers)
No thanks. KW was actually in the top 10 for QB pressures, we just didn't have a push up the middle for him to get sacks.
No thanks, he is going to go for a huge payday and I am not sure if he is the kind of guy that generates pressure on his own.
Nope, we would be dumb to do that. Whoever pays for Cliff will regret it. He really reminds me of how Ray Edwards was. A decent player that was a product of his surroundings.
Cliff had a huge advantage with the D-Line men he played with. If he was really great he would have had minster numbers last season. Without Suy, Farley, and the gang he will be about as good as Wimbley. Stay the course. . . sit tight on this one.
