Does anyone use Clearwire for home internet? I used to have Comcast and hated their customer service and now have AT&T and not a big fan of them either now. I would go back to Comcast because atleast the service seems more consistant, but the price is just too high. I can get Clearwire home internet and phone for about $40 cheaper a month than I'm paying AT&T right now, but don't want to do it if Clearwire's service isn't good for streaming/downloading.

    Any opinions on Clearwire?

I had it for about 6 months.

I had no major complaints to be honest. I had to get it, my Comcast just stopped working and when they came out to fix it, they were there for 7 hours and just told me "Well, we don't know what's going on, we're going home".

So, essentially, I think there was some sort of demonic spirit or extra terrestrial being living in my house. They said it was something in the walls that was preventing it from working? (It had worked for a year previous). Idiots.

Ive had Comcast 8 years, no problems. you cant beat their speeds for the price.

and they arent as strict as Clear Wire, my friend had Clear Wire and they emailed him and told him stop downloading music and videos.

Comcast is just too expensive imo. And customer service sucks but so does AOL's. Man, I wish there was better competition.

Clearwire wasn't bad, man. You get exactly what you pay for....

The speed isn't as quick but you can't beat the price...I'd say go for it.

    One...

How was it for streaming? With Bellsouth, at best is get 3mps (if that is the correct term). Was there any lag due to the 4G?

Download speeds were on par with comcast's. Sometimes streaming lagged a tiny bit but it wasn't a usual thing. I remember it being a little screwy with youtube video's sometimes, though.

I just went back to Comcast after having U-Verse for a couple of years. I was paying ATT for 18mbps , getting only about 14 ..... now I'm paying Comcast for 50mbps...and sometimes getting in the high 60's
downloaded a movie (just to test the speed) ...... it took about 5 minutes

I loathed Comcast too, but I guess they're the lesser of the evils
