He criticizes the Titans for not getting a #1 WR....then follows it up by admitting that none of this year's WR's carried a first-round grade?

Everyone says it because it's a legit concern.

I guess it's a guarantee because they have to get the opportunities. But, it could be very similar to last year as well. To me, guarantee is a stretch.

wow salisbary really is mean man lol clayton went home and killed himself haha...anyway the point is we drafted young over leinart for the sole reason of young fiting into our small ball kinda offense. with the core of wr we have i think he can get it done. we have something alot of teams dont have...depth. now, dont get me wrong i want(ed) a #1 wr as bad as everyone else. but we didnt get it, and apparently the fo knows why we didnt go after 1. lets see how this runs out, maybe young will allow roydell, gage and hawkins to emerge as household name kinda guys.

Mike Heimerdinger doesn't need first-day picks at WR.....never has. The guy has made a career of turning so-called lemons into lemonade.

Because Clayton always tries to argue the same thing he just said. I like Clayton most the time, but Salisbury burries him every time they get in to one of these little bickering matches.
Clayton usually begs for it though, then doesn't say anything once Sal rips in to him. It's hilarious.

"Hey John, Happy Halloween"..."thanks, happy halloween to you"..."Yeah, I love your costume. TAAAALES FROM THE KRYPT!! hahahah"

i was dying when he did that.

The draft simply didn't offer any value at that position in the top 2 rounds.

In the first rd the only guy close to being worth that pick in my mind was desean jackson but because he is a dynamic punt return man. A playmaker from ther slot jackson would never be a star WR in this league.

Let's say we drafted our DE in rd 1, merling. What WR of value was there in rd 2? Doucet again mainly becauase of his return capabilities and bennett. Are either of these guys future #1 type players? Probably not.

The best value in rd 1 was defense, phillips, merling. In rd 2 TE bennett or RB rice, CB lee or king.

You can't knock us for not taking a WR early but we got poor value with johnson at 24.

If the "experts" did a little more research on Heimerdinger's record with wide receivers, they wouldn't be as charged about us needing a number one.

I'm not going to argue if Merling was a good pick or not. Obviously other teams didn't see him as a real stud or he would have been drafted earlier than he was. I'm not sure we didn't get a comparable DL in the 2nd round.

As for picking Bennett why would he be such great value when the kid we drafted in the 3rd round is comparable if not more valuable because he can block?

I'd rather have the draft we have. Johnson is going to create matchup nightmares for the defense and will help spread the defense. That is what we needed more than anything.
