We didn't trade for Clady for the same reason Tunsil won't be the pick at 1....we have a LT

The first step was getting Ferguson to retire.
Step two was the Clady trade to fill the Jets void.
With Clady gone, the Broncos now have enough cap room for Kaepernick.
Step three will be the Kap trade.
With the absence of Kap, a Niners/ Titans trade makes too much sense.
Step four...

Everyting is going according to plan

 

So who do we take at 7??

 

A top 10 draft pick... Should still get one of the most talented players in the draft. The Titans have needs at plenty of positions.

 

If we drop from 1-7 niners better pony up 2 more picks this draft and about 3 more future ones.

 

It could be done for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks this year. Remember they pick near the top of each round, picks #7, #37 &#68. That would be pretty nice. Adding a high pick next year would be icing on the cake.

 

Don't believe you have researched how poorly this trade idea really is. Not that it wouldn't benefit us substantially but you have to take into account that precedents are in place with these things.

No chance Chip Kelly who most likely will begin complete roster turn over is going to trade the top half of his entire draft for one of these bum ass QBs.

Last time a #1 overall was traded was 2001 for the exquisite Micheal Vick. ATL Traded up from the 5 hole. Gave a third that year and a second the next while swapping firsts.

Also add in the RG3 debacle. People aren't going outta their way with crazy draft trades with that disaster still looming recently in their minds.

 

Except the draft is like Vegas. Teams get irrational and do dumb things they believe are smart at the time. It's anybody's guess what happens this year, but really no scenario will surprise me.
