Wow guys we gave Nate "can't catch a cold" Washington $27m but we can't give CJ, the player that has carried the team and is only 25 $35m!?!?!?!? Unbelievable

    I'm sorry folks. He's replaceable.

Put your fanhood aside for a second. Ignore that he's on your favorite team...

his YPC was average last year. He didnt do anything special. And he wants a pay raise ON TOP of the pay raise he got after actually being impressive the year before?

    What sense does that make?

Put any fast RB in our backfield and you'll see similar results to CJ's. He's 60% blocking 40 % skill.

CJ isn't only fast he's very elusive. I remember being at the SD game last year with a friend who is not a Titans fan and having him say right after CJs TD...."did that just happen?? That's some Barry Sanders type S***." Cj has a ton of value outside of being fast that you guys aren't giving him any credit for.

You have to be kidding me. He has one of the sickest jukes in the game. He's a pure football player with track speed. He has excellent vision and and instincts. That's a rare combination.

His YPC this past season was 4.3, which is right on par with other top five rushers MJD (4.4) and Michael Turner (4.1).

Did his play suffer from our O-Line falling into suck? Of course it did, as it would for any player. What's the point?

Titans need more people carrying the team. CJ is only able to carry the Titans to 6 wins.

CJ needs to do twice as much carrying apparently.

**** this guy, he is playing one of the least valuable, easy to replace positions in the league, trade him for whatever we can get.

This is a very misleading description of the situation.

CJ got a tiny bonus in 2010 because that was all the Titans could give him with the capless year rules. Of course he still wants a new long-term deal. He's not double-dipping or anything.

Pay him. He's a once-a-decade RB a la Barry, TD, LT2, ADP, etc.

Great post. CJ definitely deserves more money, be it here or somewhere else. He's making backup salary right now and theres no arguing that he's a top 5 player in the game. Unless your a stubborn chump that is. I'm not really opposed to the idea of trading him, but if we do then we more or less eliminate any chance of contention within the next three seasons. We've already lost 2 of our first round picks of the past 6 years, getting rid of CJ would mean half our first round picks since 05 aren't playing. And Britt is gnawing at the bits to get cut with his antics... that could be 4 of our last six first rounders. That sets a team back 10 years. First round picks are supposed to be superstars. Obviously that's exactly what CJ is, so we better get at least 1 or 2 first rounders in exchange for him. Otherwise, pay the man. He's earned it. Diva or not, he knows just as well as anyone that he's one bone crunching hit away from never seeing the payday he's earned. Can't say I blame him.
