Chump Warmack

Yeah. This was an easy bust call.

Thing was... I said we could have gotten Worford later and he'd be a better player.

 

Chance has been bad, true. Trouble is Levitre has been worse and Schwenke has been worse than both. Yet no one every complains about Schwenke. And there are a mix of reasons:

1. Schwenke has a cool name people like
2. He was a mid round pick making a low (by NFL standards) wage

Trouble is none of those reasons change the fact that Schwenke is by far the worst guy we have starting on the OL.

 

Brian Schwenke was considered the best center in that draft class by the people in charge of this organization at the time. Travis Frederick was selected in the first round and has been light years ahead of Schwenke.

The people running this team are/were ****ing clueless.

 

I remember when schwenke was drafted i watched some video of him doin pass pro drills and everytime he got pushed back 3-4 yards and had horrible form

 

I didn't read every post in here but I read the OP and I read this one and it pretty much sums up my feelings about the OL. Chance has definitely been a bust up until this point. I was hoping that Dee Milliner or Star Lotulelei were gonna fall to us.

When the pick ended up being Warmack I didn't hate it because you figure that Munch and Matthews would coach him up into something special. That hasn't happened and the kid looks like just that, a kid.

 

It's bad enough with the poor O-line play, but it pisses me off more with their penalties. Negates good plays or just continue to kill drives. Hard to overcome 1st and 20 or 2nd and 18 with any type of offense let alone ours where 10 yd is an uphill battle for us.

 

Our line was so bad I didn't have a problem with the Warmack pick, the game is won in the trenches and building up our Oline was much needed. But here we are a few years later, two first round picks and a huge FA signing later and the line still sucks.

Makes me wonder if some of this is the line coach? I mean we know Mathews sucks as a line coach that's for sure but I wonder what Munch could do with these guys if he wouldn't have been promoted to HC and was still our Oline coach?

Chance seems like a lazy fat ass bum, obviously linemen are supposed to be big and most have some fat but this guy is a ball of blubber, hard to be agile and athletic when you have no muscle mass and your just a ball of blubber. Take some pride in your career and gets some muscle on you blubber boy!

 

I supported the Chance Warmack pick. And I can see why others did as well.

1 - At the time, there was still some hope that CJ could get back to form with better blocking.

2 - EVERYONE said that Chance was a can't miss prospect

3 - We had to face JJ Watt twice a year, so we needed someone that could handle him.

4 - we were also force fed the BS about how Munch would be able to turn this guy into an all pro

Unfortunately the suckitude of the Munch/Matthews combo to develop a 1st round G was severely underrated. Also, no one knew that Chance would be such a fat lazy slob that doesn't seem to give a sh*t about football anymore. Chance should be very embarrassed at this point and just quit the team on his own. Levitre too

We spent so much to fix our OL, and it seems to have gotten worse. Might as well have Amano back there.

 

I think it's a lot more #2 than #1. It's all about expectations. People don't expect much out of 4th round draft picks. But a top 10 overall pick? Hell yes they do.

So Schwenke isn't the answer at the C position? Oh well. But if Warmack isn't the answer at OG then that that was a huge, monumental blunder.
