We blitzed him quite a bit the first half, then we got away from it since it did nothing for us. The few times we blitzed Dalton in the 2nd half came on a 1st & 20, but he connected for a 23-yard gain LOL. So that's kinda why we stopped sending a 5th guy, it only seemed to help them.

Our DT's stink if you haven't noticed. Cincinnati put them on their azz's all game. Hard to blitz when all your teammates are piled up like dead bodies, makes it very hard to sift though blockers.

Cause he ran 10 freaking 10-yard curl routes, that's his best route. Damn dude, for someone claiming to have been there, you sure missed a lot of stuff. Save your money when Tampa comes to town cause you clearly don't watch the game.

Dalton threw the ball away at least 1 time due to a bitz. He didnt even attempt to make something happen that play. Just launched it OOB.

    So I wouldn't say it wasn't effective.

    ^^^

Our DT's just don't penetrate. They are not disruptive. Gray's defense is not that dissimilar from our traditional 4-3 precepts- namely the DT's must be disruptive.

The majority of our blitzes were simply a waste of time. Green is vicious, but I knew he'd be so no surprise to me that he ripped us to shreds.

Green ripped us to shreds only because we gave him a 10 yard cushion every play.

they burnt us on several plays when we blitzed, most of the time, they picked up our blitzed with no problem. We simply have no playmakers on defense.

How are some of you having such a problem grasping the concept "if it ain't working, dump it"? You all b*tch and moan how Munchak doesn't change, he's so Fisher-like, then when he does adjust, you aren't even able to recognize it.... Shesh!

Where exactly did we change on defense? We've been playing soft zone with a 10 yard cushion for 3 straight years now at least and putting no pressure on the QB which is an awful combination.

Fishers defenses always played conservatively, thinking the offesne will slip up if his defense didn't. Now we bump guys at the line, but also adjust accordingly based on the flow of the game. This years team is absolutely more aggressive than years prior.

Another deference is we're no longer lining up in the 9-technique at DE, and this year we are sending more blitzes their way.

One more before I move along, this team can shed blocks now. Last year we'd get blocked and more times than not, that was it, they'd be done at that point. Now though, we're showing there's some fight in us.

You watch the games and you'll see we start with plan-A, but now we have a plan-B. Fisher teams had plan-A, and plan-A, and that was it. I can't be mad at the coaches if the other teams out hustles our guys. That's on the players.

It's funny because we allowed 7 points in the first half while blitzing, but you're saying that wasn't working....

and in the 2nd half where we didn't blitz...we gave up 17 pts.

    Uhhh...

It was once again a case of being aggressive and dominating the first half- then laying off completely in the 2nd to get killed.

    Same Fisher strategy. Same result.
