    1. CJ refused to take a pay cut.
    2. 2 year/$8mil is still too much money.
    3. Verner asked us for $9mil a year. We refused and when his market value leveled off around $6mil a year, we jumped back in and made an offer, but he turned it down and decided to go for a fresh start with the Bucs (who are a better fit for him scheme wise).
    4. Would you rather we bring back Fisher/Reinfeldt and resurrect Bud?
    5. Our roster and coaching staff are now both much better than what we've had the last several years.
    6. If we restructured CJ's contract to a 2 year/$8mil deal it would've barely made headlines on ESPN and no one would be raving over it. NY is the biggest market there is, so they naturally love the move. Also, the Jets have the second year option on the contract, so CJ can be released after this season without them owing him more money. It's essentially a 1 year/$4mil deal... which is more reasonable.

You need to do research before making idiotic posts like this.

My initial feeling is he wanted out of TEN as well. Just like Vern if he wanted to be here he had ample opportunity. I would say his ego got the best of him but in reality he got exactly what he wanted so maybe not.

I honestly think cj thought he was worth 8m per year. I think his "free agency" probably hurt his ego deeply.

I honestly think the lack of interest this FA humbled CJ. Which is why he's been saying "all the right things".

FA taught him his days as a feature back are OVER as well. I guarantee you Whiz would have lobbied to keep him at the amount he got from the Jets if had more "team" in him. That trait is required for how Wiz runs his offense. They jumped on McCluster for that reason.

No way. If he did then he has the worst agent in the world.

For his position he was paid 2nd highest behind AP's 11mil. Now he is 6th highest from what I've seen. Add in his Titans money hes still top 5 at his position. Tied with Ray Rice for 4 mil. Add just 2mil of the 4 he got for this year he would be 3rd highest paid.

If you take all the money from the Titans plus his NY salary he'd made the 2nd highest amount in 2014.
