C.J. also said that he is the BEST running back in the NFL today. I for one don't agree with that.
Chris Johnson can kiss my hiney hoo! It's one thing to think it and he's probably right, but to come out and say it to the media is unacceptable! I have nothing further to say without getting banned. I really don't care if he's on the roster next season or not. He can go blab for someone else in my opinion. Good riddance!
I don't feel that strongly but quality rant!
CJ isn't my favorite person, but if you think he isn't a top 10 rb you're goofy. Some would argue top 5 I'm sure.
Of course he is going to say he is the best. Just like I'M THE BEST POSTER ON GOTITANS.COM
When they asked him if he expected the Titans to give him the bonus or let him walk he basically said that no one has talked to him about it, either way wouldn't surprise him, no hard feelings if it doesn't work out. When asked about any blame for the season, yeah I guess I was part of the team so I guess so.
Now what do I want him to say...
Say he believes we will get back to winning and that he hopes he will remain a Titan and wants to bring a championship to this organization. That he is confident in his abilities and that we have some of the pieces we need, young players that are going to grow and get better and that he will be a leader for the team now that he is a true veteran.
But he's never going to say that.
I still want us to pay him and let him play next year because we don't need the cap space now. What else are we going to do with it and hasn't it kicked in that every team has to spend a cap minimum?
So he is pretty much agreeing with most fans. He has as much faith in the FO and coaching staff as we do. Yeah, maybe he shouldn't have said it, but he's as tired of losing as we are of seeing them lose.
As much as we hated fisherspeak, now that a guy comes out and is honest we say he shouldn't say it. Make up your minds!!!
I am not going to rag on a guy for speaking his mind about the state of the team.......especially when he might be correct.
Again, say what you want. But I WANT our top players to say they are unhappy. All that means is that the fire is rising.
I'd like to see him want to be part of the turnaround in Tennessee instead of not really seeming like he cares if he stays in Nashville or not.
And if he doesn't really care whether or not he's here AND he's becoming one of the veterans, that's just not good for team morale.
But honestly that is reading a lot into it and this will be long forgotten by August.
The talk of getting a first round pick for him is pure fantasy.
His comments sound bad, but I honestly think he just wants to win and he's been beaten down by what have been some pretty bad Titans teams. If the team can actually start winning, I think he'll come around. I still think he can be a key piece of a playoff team.
