Yeah, yeah, yeah, see my explanation for my comment at the top of page 2 on this thread if you care, I believe I said he was having a "decent" season.

Say what you will about Ringer, but he runs hard and at times has looked better than CJ (remember, there was a time when 3YPC looked pretty good relative to CJ's lack of production).

I do agree that Ringer has not had a great season by any standards and probably has not done enough to be re-signed though. Even if he's far from the ideal compliment for CJ, I just kinda like the kid and he clearly has determination and toughness.

theres so much money tied up into that position it makes no sense to throw anymore at anyone else with the terrible offensive line. Harper and Ringer are definitely serviceable change of pace backs but can't expect Jerome Bettis himself to be productive behind this line.

 

If Munchak and Matthews dont deem it necessary to replace Amano at centre in the off season I'll be in despair.

 

When the defense knows the QB isn't going anywhere and the #1 WR is out then they usually key in on the run. Now the OL hasn't been doing CJ any favors but I'm not buying that we should trade him or bring in someone expensive to split carries. I would like a bruising type of RB to get 5-7 carries a game but CJ will be a lot better next year.
