@jwyattsports: QB Charlie Whitehurst is visiting the #Titans on Thursday and there's a real scenario where he could be the team's No.2 this fall

If he's cheaper then I'm fine with it, but I think Fitz is better.

Just a waste of time. He's not any better than Fitz. I don't see the point in slightly downgrading.

I think Fitz is better, but cutting Fitz does open some money, right?
(overthecap doesn't work at work for me)

Could open up a couple mil more in spending. I'm still praying on a 2nd or 4th round QB.. that's a stretch though.

With all the guys were looking at in free agency, and the possibility downgrading at the back-up QB position (could be salary cap reasons), it's starting to look like we might be drafting a QB early this year.

Why would the front office make the switch at back-up and gamble on Locker staying healthy if we weren't planning on drafting someone.

Just saw this on Twitter and wondered why they would do this? Did Whitehurst even play last year?

I think Fitz is a good backup and I'd much rather have him have to start a few games in the middle of the year than Whitehurst.

The only way this is good news is if it saves us some money and they are actually going to use it to go sign someone that is a real difference maker. But just swapping out backup QBs doesn't make sense to me.

Oh damn, we're looking at Charlie Whitehurt now?

    Just why?

This guy is not worth anything. I'd rather hold on to Fitzy TBH

Unless Whitehurt is only looking for like $50, its a bad deal for us.

Since Fitz has a good grasp of the playbook by now, I rather keep him.

Whole new system, Whitehurst is familiar with what we are going to run. It would be nice to have a vet QB to be able to teach this system to a rookie Qb and Locker.
