Because people are talking about it. They would not be talking about it if he had gone to a cubs game. It's that simple. There would not be a thread about Pac Man going to a Cubs game. No article. No news. But of course there will be an article about pac man at a casino and a boxing match. Cause that, like it or not, is on a different image level.

It's not us. The NFL told him not to do this. We're simply pointing out his failure to comply with the policy. Like it or not, the NFL is frowning.

    Here's what we're talking about.

Normally, there's nothing wrong with a player going to a casino, or a boxing match, or both. For that matter, there's nothing wrong with a player going to a nightclub, or a strip club.

However, Pacman has proven himself incapable of carrying himself in a professional manner in such environments, and has repeatedly and frequently found himself at the center of confrontations in such settings....far moreso than any other player in the NFL. As a result, Pacman is held to a different standard than other players, and is subject to a far lower level of tolerance than other players enjoy. (Truth be told, he quickly exhausted the normal level of tolerance with three incidents in the months between getting drafted and signing his first NFL contract.)

At this point, Pacman cannot afford a single slip-up. Just as a recovering alcoholic cannot even have a single beer without threat of relapse, Pacman should be doing everything he possibly can to avoid potentially hazardous situations, and demonstrate to the commissioner that he's serious about changing his ways. Instead, he spends the first weekend of his suspension at a casino in Tunica.

Is there anything inherently wrong with this? No. But we're talking about creating a positive image, here....or at least, doing whatever it takes to salvage what's left of his reputation. Running off to Tunica may not be "wrong", per se.....but it was stupid and shortsighted, and gives us very little reason to believe that he's taking this suspension as seriously as everyone else involved....including the fans.
