The East just got tougher for Lebron...

I think Billups is being really under-estimated in this move. Amare/Billups/Melo is a good 3. Much like Boston's... Amare = better KD. Melo = better Paul P. Billups = can shoot similar to Ray Allen. Not as good of course, but still.

    Not bad, NY.

Yea everyone is pumped out here. Now I don't have to go to Knicks games to see the other team. I'm excited about this move. Boston, Miami, Chicago, and Orlando need to watch out.

    True @ no defense.

Amare is a decent defender. Who knows... inspired play can do a lot. See: Miami.

They'll still be a good team and cause some trouble. They've already beaten us twice this year.

Lol, or maybe they have good defenders at every position besides PF.

Anyways, yea, NY is probably the 5th best team in the East this year. Unfortunately, I can't see two mediocre defenders coming together to win anything significant this year or in the future. We'll see.

They'll get Chris Paul next year which is a shame. Hate to see him in Knick blue.

Not really. They don't have 1 good 1vs1 defender on the team.

This was a GREAT move for NY. With Melo taking all the spotlight, people have forgotten about Billups, as he can still ball. Felton, Chandler, Gallinari for Melo and Billups... Felton and Billups cancel out in my opinion, yes Felton is having a borderline all-star year, but keep in mind D'antoni's run and gun offense will inflate your numbers, and I rather have Billups come playoff time. So really, to get Melo, all NY had to do was give up Chandler and Gallinari. I know people were high on those two young talent, but Gallinari is what he is, and his ceiling is a great third option, not a star player. So what a steal by NY. However, they lost all their depth, so it probably improves the team by 1 or 2 spots in the standings, and I don't think they're on the level of Miami, Boston, or Chicago yet. But by getting a superstar like Melo, the hardest part is over and (even without adding another superstar like Chris Paul or Deron Williams) if they get a few key role players next season (like a change of pace back up pg, a defensive stopper on the wing, a paint protecting center) and with Boston not getting any younger, NY can really be a powerhouse as early as next year.

Denver screwed themselves over by backing out of the first trade with NJ that would have gotten them Harris and Favors, as Favors was potentially a guy they could have built their franchise around.
