Will this effect his play in the NFL? Nope, it will just hurt Auburn and the SEC. So Cam could probably care less. His family got he money (they are not giving it back), he has played INCREDIBLE ball on national TV and has shown he can really play (first rounder despite the problems). Auburn will possibly got to the national championship and possibly win the game, they may have to vacate the win a couple of years from now but so what? They got to play and win the game and be crowned, noone will care if it is taken back just ask USC.

Who cares about undermining the integrity of the game... just as long as your team wins, right? That's some typical SEC meatball fanboyism at its finest.

I don't know why there is suggestion that MSU was involved in anything elicit...they turned in the information back in Jan...why are we just hearing about it now?

State has done nothing wrong that I have read.

Pretty sure that according to Erick, if you're in the SEC, you've done enough wrong by default, and so you should be punished, or something like that.

You think he's a first round pick? I surely don't.

He's like Tebow as far as the NFL is concerned. Some scouts wouldn't touch him in the first 4 rounds....some love his upside and like him in the first.

Let me take that back, he will go in the first round, I just wouldn't be the one to pick him.

So according to the sources, these incidents were reported almost as soon as they allegedly happened? Yet MSU continued to recruit him up until he signed with Auburn. Something doesn't add up.

Oklahoma was recruiting him as well, and Stoops came out and said there was nothing elicit going on during the process.

Someone here is lying, and possibly everyone involved is hiding some portion of the truth. When all of this finally settles there will be heads rolling.

LOL Tell me how all of the SEC QBs not named manning are doing in the NFL nowadays. Infact, go back 30 years and find me a probowl SEC QB that had a winning record. Drafting an SEC QB is bad business.

The less coaches know, the better. I have a theory in regards to this situation: There are alot of third parties involved here. If a coach hears no evil, sees no evil, then he is not held responsible. That's why Stoops is saying what he is saying. He honestly may not know and may not want to know.

The third parties, perhaps a church member of Papa Newtons congregation, could have been given the money... Then what happened? The money was laundered back to the family through the offering plate. That money is not only untaxable income but if it is given incrementally, such as each week, it won't set off any redflags. A $100,000 lump sum donation would set off redflags in an investigation... but 20 church members giving $50 extra per week to the church would be about $100,000 over a year. Who is to say they weren't given a cut for their cooperation?

That's my conspiracy theory and I'm sticking to it. Maybe not that many people are involved, but there is alot stuff going on behind the scenes that we may know or never know about.

I have to give it to the Newton family. They have figured out how to circumvent the system. All they have to say is this.. "Cam Newton's high profile brought alot of attention to our church and the higher membership = higher offerings" and viola you have successfully circumvented NCAA investigation by laundering the money back to your family in the form of church donations.

I'm probably wrong and I hope I am wrong, but this could totally happen and it's the blue print for how to game the system. Remember, when there is smoke, there is fire.
