Byron Bell throws Mettenberger under the bus

MM is a better QB hands down. However, until we have a real HC it will not matter who is behind center. Whiz is getting his QBs killed on a weekly basis. The oline coach should be looking for work right now.

Whiz is too ego riven to admit he made a mistake. Even if that mistake can be fixed, he will still lay the blame somewhere else. He hired a HORRIBLE oline coach. Webster hired a HORRIBLE HC. Owners hired a HORRIBLE GM. Who will fix their issues 1st???

Great Question....... What pisses me off most about the situation is the lack of concern by anyone associated with upper management.

 

As soon as he was getting in a rhythm he got hurt......unfortunate.

 

It's about value. Locker was a bust #10 pick.. Mett is a typical 6th round QB. One handicapped the organization.. one is just another late round pick not destined for the NFL.

Mett is what he should be, draft position wise..

Locker was a complete bust.

But people were wrong, thinking that Mett was the answer. Holding onto the ball forever kills his chance of being successful.

Mett's not even a bust.. he's just what every other team in the NFL thought he was.. A late round project QB with some upside, but not enough to make him a 1st-5th round pick.

We mortgaged our future on Locker, and lost. All we lost in Mett was a 6th round pick, which is nothing, since we routinely blow through 2nd round picks like nothing else.

May I also add that Locker is a quitter. He took that sweet 1st round pick money, and ran with it. Can't blame him, though.

 

Hopefully Mariota is back to 100% and we never have to use Mett again.

I disagree with a lot of this. Locker was a very passionate football player that may have been drafted higher than he should have. He had some brutal injuries, but still kept a positive attitude and fought for his teammates.

He was shown the most brutal side of the football "business" by Ken Whizenhunt. One of the most disrespectful moves I've ever seen, the way he treated his starting QB in favor of his "prototype strong arm QB" in Mett. It hurt Locker so bad in fact that he decided to walk away from the game, not the injuries that he'd fought thru, but the utter lack of professionalism shown by an ego maniac Head Coach.

This is still think rubs some of the players the wrong way, and showed that if you aren't a Whiz guy, he doesn't care period.

Jake Locker was a salt of the earth fine young man, the type of guy that Tennesseans would rally behind and really like. It didn't work out mostly due to injuries, but the kid was nothing but professional.

To call him a quitter is unfair. Cheers

How did you take this as a shot at Mett? Obviously he's talking about the horrible oline play.

 

Sure, I saw Mett suck. But, I also saw him get sacked 6 times and hurried about 20 more times behind an oline that looked like they had no idea they were supposed to stop the guys across from them. Even Lewan was wiffing on a regular.
