Though I think Offspring make better music and lyrics, Ramones get my vote for their role in music history.
Despite never having the music industry/radio/MTV behind them The Ramones were one of the first 70's bands inducted into The RR Hall of Fame. Pretty good for a band that earned their simple keep via touring and grassroots fan support.. Offspring shoulda been voted out long ago.. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/kJizV-d3sEQ&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/kJizV-d3sEQ&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
I hear you... but I'm going to have to interject here that the R&RHOF is a worthless self-congratulating jerk-off session by it's owner and has little or nothing at all to do with R&R or it's most influential artists or bands. But you probably already know that.
Close call. I would've been disgusted if The Offspring made it any further. I actually like some of their stuff (and I'm pretty sure I suggested that you added them to Band Wars), but they weren't worthy of making it this far.
